Start with a consistent medicine list
Identify the items your clinic tracks and the units staff actually use. A box, strip, and tablet are not interchangeable stock quantities. Bring your item list and explain purchasing and dispensing units so the proposed configuration can be checked.
Review receiving, dispensing, and adjustments
Walk through how stock enters the clinic, how it is issued, and how staff handle a discrepancy. Specify who records each movement and who approves corrections. Use a stock-count example to check whether the proposed reports answer your team’s questions.
Confirm batch and expiry requirements
If you need batch tracking, expiry alerts, reorder levels, supplier records, or transfers between branches, list them explicitly. These are assessment questions, not a promise that every feature is included. Confirm the demonstrated capabilities and development scope in writing.
Connect inventory with cashier operations
Agree whether an inventory movement occurs at dispensing, payment, or another approved step. Review cancellation and correction scenarios with both the cashier and the person responsible for stock. Consistent handoffs matter as much as the stock screen itself.
Prepare for your workflow assessment
- Prepare medicine names, units, and current stock quantities.
- Describe receiving, dispensing, and stock-count procedures.
- Identify batch, expiry, and reorder requirements.
- Ask for a demonstration of the billing-to-stock handoff.
